According to the Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), credit
reporting agencies must investigate and correct or delete inaccurate,
incomplete, or unverifiable information within 30 days of receiving a dispute.
However, if you submit additional documentation while your dispute is being
reviewed, the bureau can extend this deadline by up to 15 days. If you submit a
dispute after receiving a free copy of your credit report, the bureaus have up
to 45 days to investigate. Once the investigation is complete, the bureau has
five days to notify you of the results. However, according to the errors in
your credit report this can take up to four months to be updated, so it's
important to be patient and persistent in following up on your dispute. If
you're having trouble correcting errors on your credit report, consider
reaching out to a credit repair agency like Titan Credit Score Consultants for
assistance.
